Spring semester is (perhaps shockingly) winding down. With Commencement just over a month away, many seniors are putting their final touches on four years of education. Senior capstones come in many forms, from voice recitals and art shows to papers and presentations. For Adventure Education majors, this culmination of study appears every spring in the form of the Outdoor Studies Colloquium.

On Thursday, April 15th, a group of junior and senior Adventure Education majors (as well as a Camp Mgmt. And Youth Development major, and an Inderdisciplinary Studies major) will be presenting this year’s Colloquium—Social Implications of Adventure. In addition to six student presentations, there will be two keynote speakers during the Colloquium. Thomas Hark, the President of The Vermont Youth Conservation Corp. and Nadine Budbill, Founder and Executive Director of Girls Move Mountains will be on campus to talk about their experience as leaders in Vermont’s adventure community.

Please, come out and support your fellow students as they work to bring the Spring 2010 Semester to a close. For more information on the Colloquium, see the attached schedule, or contact the Colloquium’s public relations group, Alaina Killion and Derek Gavelis.
