D r. Pete Myers is a scientist who most embodies the vision of Rachel Carson. She correctly identified DDT as a risk to so many animals, from eagles to humans. And if we’re going to move into the 21st century with our health — and that of our families, our neighbors, and our ecosystems — we’d do good to listen to what Myers has learned. For his introduction to Rachel Carson, read “From Silent Spring to Scientific Revolution“ at “Our Stolen Future,” the website supporting the book he co-wrote with Theo Colborn.Myers, publisher of Environmental Health News, will speak to Delicate Balance and other students on Monday, Nov. 25, from 10-11 in the East Room of Withey Hall.

Todd Martin is serving as Green Editor for The Mountaineer for 2009-2010.
